Institute advocates games in classes

The Flemish Institute for Scientific and Technological Studies (viWTA) advocates the use of games in schools. After all, most games provide a good learning environment, according to recent research commissioned by the viWTA.
Games have a negative image: they incite violence and aggression, are addictive and lead to social isolation. An open, neutral debate about the effects of games therefore seemed almost impossible in Flanders. That’s why viWTA commissioned an overview study entitled ‘They can’t get enough of it! Young people and gaming’.
